Joint Seminar of the Serbian Society for Extracellular Vesicles (SrbEVs) and the Serbian Association for Cancer Research (SDIR). As part of the collaboration between the Serbian Society for Extracellular Vesicles (SrbEVs) and the Serbian Association for Cancer Research (SDIR), a joint seminar entitled “Extracellular Vesicles in Cancer” was held on December 16, 2025, bringing together more than 50 registered members of both societies.

The aim of the meeting was to strengthen collaboration and foster networking between researchers from the two societies through presentations of their members’ work, as well as through discussions on current advances in the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer, with a particular focus on the emerging role of extracellular vesicles. As part of the scientific program, PhD student Miodrag Vuković from Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia (IORS) delivered a lecture entitled “Pleural Effusion as a Source of Extracellular Vesicles – Relevance in the Diagnosis and Research of Lung Cancer”, highlighting the potential of pleural effusion as a valuable biological source for extracellular vesicle research and its application in oncology.
