Andrej Milivojac - Secondment from UBFC to GEN

As part of the EXPAND-EV project, Andrej Milivojac from the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Chemistry spent two months at the GENOS lab in Zagreb, Croatia.

During the second period of his split secondment, carried out in September and October 2025, Andrej further expanded his theoretical and practical expertise in advanced glycomic methodologies. Building on the skills gained during his initial visit, he refined his ability to process biological samples with high precision and reproducibility, with particular focus on the preparation of samples for N-glycan analysis. Throughout this period, he deepened his proficiency in LC-MS–based glycoanalysis, including the optimization of chromatographic conditions and mass spectrometry parameters to improve the sensitivity and resolution of glycan and glycopeptide detection.

Andrej also gained valuable experience in troubleshooting analytical workflows and evaluating the influence of different sample preparation strategies on downstream results. Overall, the secondment period significantly enhanced both his theoretical insight and his practical competence in state-of-the-art glycoanalytical techniques.
