Prof. Dr. Milica Popovic, Coordinator of the EXPAND-EV project, was featured as a guest on the RTS Science Portal programme, broadcast by Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), the national public broadcasting service of the Republic of Serbia.
During the interview, Prof. Popovic discussed current advances in extracellular vesicle research and their potential applications in cancer diagnosis and treatment. She highlighted the importance of developing innovative, clinically applicable technologies that could support earlier disease detection and more personalized healthcare approaches.
The interview also provided an opportunity to present two major research initiatives coordinated by Prof. Popovic and her team. The RESCALE-EV project, funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, focuses on developing extracellular vesicle-based approaches for prostate cancer patient stratification and monitoring. In parallel, the EXPAND-EV project, funded by the European Union through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Staff Exchanges programme, aims to advance the diagnostic and therapeutic potential of extracellular vesicles through international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The discussion highlighted the growing importance of collaborative research efforts in translating scientific discoveries into practical healthcare solutions and increasing the visibility of extracellular vesicle research at both national and European levels.
We thank RTS Science Portal for the opportunity to present our work and share the goals and impact of EXPAND-EV with a wider audience.
