On 21 October 2026, our partner Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) organised the online webinar “Cancer, EVs and Liquid Biopsy”, focusing on recent advances in extracellular vesicle (EV) research and their applications in disease diagnosis and monitoring.

The webinar featured three scientific lectures:

  • High-Sensitivity Flow Cytometry for Monitoring Extracellular Vesicle Dynamics in Preclinical Breast Cancer Models, presented by María Fidel Lledó (VHIR)

  • Non-invasive Profiling of Brain-Derived Extracellular Vesicles in Down Syndrome-Associated Alzheimer’s Disease, presented by Natalia Valle Tamayo (IIB Sant Pau)

  • Making the Invisible Visible: Tiny Packages, Big Clues. Calorimetric Lateral-Flow Detection of EVs and their miRNA Cargo in Liquid Biopsy for Disease Diagnosis and Monitoring, presented by Carlos Cuestas Ayllón (Universidad de Zaragoza–CSIC).

The webinar provided an opportunity for researchers to exchange knowledge and discuss different approaches to EV detection, characterisation and their potential applications in liquid biopsy and precision medicine.
