As part of the EXPAND-EV project, Nika Foglar from Genos, spent a month at the partner National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), focusing on mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Her project included training on biological samples and analysis of extracellular vesicles (EVs) from liver cell line IHH, prepared by a partner institution, VHIR, Barcelona.
This intensive training provided hands-on expertise across the full proteomic workflow: meticulous sample preparation for biological and EV samples, advanced LC-MS analysis and data processing, interpretation and visualization. During her secondment, Nika deepened her theoretical knowledge of MS analysis and proteomics, and gained practical experience that she will be able to further expand and build upon.
